Polyethylene is the most commonly used plastic in the world, but how do you know if it's the right yarn for your application? Consider the attributes of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) - a very tough subset of polyethylene that has a strength to weight ratio 8-15 times greater than steel.

Outrigger pads are made in UHMWPE or HDPE material, an engineering material that offers a superior combination of impact strength, wear and chemical resistance. Each pad is equipped with a durable rope handle to allow for easy storage and mobility. Why use UHMWPE instead of other materials

UHMWPE or Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene offers wear resistant and sliding properties that make it an ideal choice for many industries such as materials handling, food, mining, transport and marine among others.
Known for excellent toughness and good sliding properties, UHMWPE is a lightweight material offering resistance to diluted acids, cleaning agents and numerous solvents. The material also provides benefits such as very good abrasion resistance, superior electrical insulation, and very low water absorption.
The material is ideal for creating chemical apparatus, chopping boards, conveyor parts, cryogenic parts, food processing equipment, liners, and wear strips.
